Artificial Intelligence that serves people

The centre creates foundation for a safe, innovative, and human-centred artificial intelligence future in Latvia.

About AI Latvia

National Artificial Intelligence Center of Latvia ( AI Latvia) is a national platform that helps the government, academia, and industry collaborate on the development of safe and reliable artificial intelligence applications. Its operations are based on the ''Artificial Intelligence Center Law'', adopted by the Latvian Parliament on March 6, 2025. The AI Latvia is structured as a private foundation, and this legal form allows it to flexibly attract the necessary expertise and utilize resources from universities, as well as the public and private sectors, while still having state-mandate. It was founded by the Republic of Latvia, the Association of Latvian Universities, and LIKTA. Its establishment was supported by President Edgars Rinkēvičs, the National Competitiveness Commission, as well as partners from the university, public, and private sectors.
